WASHINGTON DC's "SQUARE AND COMPASS" STREET LAYOUT

A popular way of depicting the Square and Compass is with this "all-seeing eye" placed at the top of the compass (see two examples below).











Therefore likewise are the streets of Washington DC also layed out in such a way as to create this Square and Compass formation...and with an ingeniously devised Eye of Horus display at the top of the "compass" at the Capitol Building. Allow me to explain:
First, notice below the Square and Compass formation in the city's street layout.
But also, if you look closely at this satellite photo, you'll notice how the Capitol Building...specifically the Capitol rotunda...is sitting at the very top of the "compass". Recall from Chapter Two that the rotunda is, in fact, a huge Eye of Horus "optical illusion" when viewed from inside the rotunda. Thus we have the Square and the Compass topped off by the "all-seeing eye".
